Choosing a Magswitch product
For fabrication, choose the magnet by the angle and part you are holding: squares and angles for fixed angles, pivot and multi angle magnets for variable angles, and the Magvise or Beam Press where you need to clamp or press. For lifting, choose by load and material, remembering that holding force depends on the thickness, flatness and surface condition of the steel, and that lifters should be used within their rated capacity. Several products are listed by maximum breakaway in pounds, so check the figure against your load.

How do I choose a lifting magnet?
Start with the load and material. Holding force falls on thin, curved or painted steel, so choose a lifter with a margin over the load and use it within its rating.
