Choosing a Markal marker
Start with the surface and how long the mark has to last. Paint markers suit general marking on metal and other surfaces. Paintstik solid markers are made for marking where liquid markers are harder to use, and there are Paintstik variants listed for galvanizing, water soluble marking and heat. Dura-Ink is for fine, permanent ink marking, and Wash Away is listed for temporary marking. Pick the tip size and colour to suit the job, and check the product page for the surface and temperature the marker is rated for. If you are marking stainless steel or food-related items, check the data sheet first.

What is the difference between a paint marker and a permanent ink marker?
A paint marker (Pro-Line, Valve Action, Quik Stik) lays down a paint mark. A Dura-Ink marker uses ink and is made for finer, permanent marking. Check the product for the surfaces each is intended for.
What is a Paintstik?
A Paintstik is a solid paint marker in stick form. We list several variants, including B, H, M, N, B-L, a P Galvanizer type and a water soluble and removable type.
Do you have a marker for welding?
We list a Markal welder pencil, Pro-Line HT 3mm yellow and Paintstik variants. Check the product pages for the temperature each is listed for before using it on hot work.
Do you have a removable marker?
Yes. We list Pro-Wash D paint markers, a Dura-Ink Wash Away marker and a water soluble and removable Paintstik (WS-3/8).
What colours are available?

Can I use Markal markers on stainless steel or food items?
