Nupla

Nupla makes fibreglass-handled striking tools and replacement handles, and AIMS Industrial supplies the range we carry: drilling hammers, ball pein hammers, a dead blow hammer, a 20 lb sledge hammer, sledge, hammer and shovel handles, a long-handle round shovel and handle setting epoxy. A fibreglass handle does not dry out, shrink or loosen the way a timber handle can, which is why people re-handle worn tools with them.

Choosing a Nupla hammer or handle

Pick the tool by the job. A drilling hammer suits driving chisels and punches, a ball pein hammer suits metalwork, rivet heading and striking punches, and a sledge hammer suits heavy driving and demolition. A dead blow hammer is for striking without rebound or marring, and the soft face tip is the replacement for a hammer that takes one. Then choose the head weight that you can swing all day without tiring: the lighter the work, the lighter the hammer.

If you are re-handling an existing tool, match the handle to the tool and measure the eye or socket before ordering. Our replacement handles are listed by tool type and size, and the epoxy kit is there for setting them. If the hammer or tool you are re-handling is not on this page, call us and we will help find a match.

Always check the data sheet. Confirm head weights, handle length and fit for your tool, and replace any hammer or handle that is cracked or damaged before use.

Nupla FAQs

Why choose a fibreglass handle over timber?

A fibreglass handle does not dry out, shrink or swell with moisture the way timber can, so it is less likely to loosen in the head. Many people choose it for tools that work outdoors or in wet or hot conditions. Timber is still a good choice for some work, so match the handle to how you use the tool.

What weight ball pein hammer do I need?

We list rubber grip ball pein hammers in 225 g and 340 g and serrated grip hammers in 455 g and 905 g. Lighter hammers suit fine work and punching, and heavier hammers suit general metalwork and forming. Choose the weight you can control comfortably.

What is a drilling hammer used for?

A drilling hammer is a short-handled club-style hammer used to drive chisels, punches and star drills. We list the Nupla drilling hammer in 3 lb (1.35 kg) and 4 lb (1.80 kg).

Do you sell replacement handles?

Yes. We list a hammer handle, a sledge hammer handle in 10 lb and 20 lb, and a 1,200 mm shovel handle, plus epoxy kits for setting handles. Check the handle against your tool before ordering, and call us if you need help matching one.

Do you have a Nupla dead blow hammer?

Yes, a 1,350 g (3 lb) dead blow hammer. A dead blow hammer is designed to strike without rebounding, and it is often used where marring a surface matters.
