Choosing a power hacksaw blade
Match the blade length and width to your machine first. Then choose the TPI by the section you are cutting: a finer pitch (14 TPI) for thin wall tube and thin section, 10 TPI for general bar and section, and a coarse pitch (6 TPI) for thick solid stock. Keep at least three teeth in contact with the workpiece, because too few teeth on thin material strips them. Fit the blade with the teeth pointing in the cutting direction, tension it to the machine maker's specification and use cutting fluid, which keeps the blade cooler and extends its life.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the blade length, width, pin spacing and TPI against your machine before ordering.

What is a power hacksaw blade?
A power hacksaw blade is a long, heavy duty blade fitted to a power hacksaw machine that cuts bar, tube and section by driving the blade back and forth. It is longer and wider than a hand hacksaw blade.
How do I choose the right TPI?
Choose by the thickness of the material at the cut. Use 14 TPI for thin wall tube and thin section, 10 TPI for general bar and section, and 6 TPI for thick solid stock. Keep at least three teeth in contact with the work.
What size power hacksaw blade do I need?
