Choosing a power saw
Match the saw to the cut and the material. Mitre and chop saws make repeat angled cuts, circular saws on a guide rail give straight cuts in sheet material, jigsaws and sabre saws handle curves and rough cutting, and bandsaws cut stock in a straight line. Cordless 18V saws are listed tool only in most cases, so check whether you need batteries and a charger. For workshop machines, check the phase and supply: the Garrick Herbert bandsaws are listed as 1 phase, and the Flexovit and Norton saws as 3 phase.
