Buy Spill Control & Containment Online in Australia
Spill control covers two jobs: responding to a spill that has already happened, and containing liquids so a leak does not reach the floor or a drain. Browse by job: spill kits and absorbents for response, and bunded pallets and spill containers for containment. This range has ready-made spill kits, loose absorbents, pads and booms, bunded pallets, and polyethylene spill containers for drums, IBCs, racking and workfloors, from Accumax, MAXSorb, SpillFix, Alemlube, MAXBund, DrySorb and Garrick.

Choosing spill control
- Oil only or general purpose: MAXSorb describes its oil and fuel kits as using absorbents that repel water and take up hydrocarbons only, which suits wet or outdoor areas. Its general purpose kits absorb water-based liquids, coolants, solvents and oils, so choose them when the spill type can't be predicted.
- Chemical spills: check the data sheet for compatibility with the chemical you store. If you are not sure, call us before you buy a kit.
- Size: choose a kit sized to the largest container you could spill. Kits here range from a 15 litre ute kit up to 240L wheelie bins.
- Containment as well as response: a bunded pallet or spill container catches a leak before it spreads, so most sites with stored drums or IBCs want both.
Always check the data sheet. Absorbent capacity, kit contents and bund volumes vary by model. Check them against the liquids you store and the bunding and spill response requirements that apply to your site and state.

Spill control questions
Which spill kit do I need?
Use an oil and fuel kit where the spill is hydrocarbons, particularly outdoors or in wet areas, a general purpose kit where water-based liquids, coolants, solvents and oils are all possible, and check the data sheet for any chemical. The range runs from a 15 litre ute kit to 240L wheelie bin kits, so size it to the largest container you could spill.
What is in the SpillFix wheelie bin kit?
Per the SpillFix description, each kit holds bags of universal organic absorbent, booms, pads, waste bags and ties, a dustpan and broom, gloves, an instruction card, and a material safety data sheet with a re-order sheet. It comes in Medium (120L) and Large (240L) bins, and refill components are available.
Is an oil and fuel kit suitable outdoors?
MAXSorb describes its oil and fuel kits as using absorbents that repel water and absorb hydrocarbons only, so they keep working in rain or wet conditions. Check the data sheet for the kit you are considering.
What loose absorbents do you have?
DrySorb absorbent granules in a 20kg pack, Garrick natural zeolite absorbent in a 22L (15kg) pack, and SpillFix Universal Coir Organic Absorbent in 15L and 50L packs.
What is the difference between a bunded pallet and a spill container?
Both catch leaks from stored liquids. The range includes bunded pallets for 4 drums and for IBCs with a 1000L bund, and Alemlube polyethylene spill containers for drums, IBCs, racking and workfloors, including under racking containers rated at 900L and 1,100L. Check the bund volume against what you store. See bunded pallets and spill containers.
How do I dispose of used absorbent?
Used absorbent can be classed as regulated waste depending on what it has absorbed. Check with your waste contractor and your state EPA before disposing of it.
