Choosing drum handling equipment
Start with the drum: its size (20 L, 60 L or 205 L), whether it is steel or plastic, and its full weight. Trolleys and dollies are rated by drum size and load, and lifters by working load limit, so check both against the loaded drum. Overhead lifters are not interchangeable. Vertical clamps, edge grip lifters, web slings and chain and clamp types are built differently, so check each product page for the drums it is designed to lift.
For dispensing, match the pump to the drum size and the fluid. The Macnaught hand pumps are listed by drum size and the air-operated pumps are for 200 L drums. Drum pumps from other brands are in Oil Pumps and Chemical Pumps. Always check the data sheet.

Drum Handling FAQs
What size drum trolley do I need?
Match the trolley to the drum size and the loaded weight. The range covers 20 L, 60 L and 205 L or 210 L drums, with ratings from 20 kg to 410 kg listed on each product. Check the rating against the full drum before you buy.
How do I choose an overhead drum lifter?
Check the working load limit against the full drum weight, then check which drums the lifter is designed for. The range includes vertical clamps and edge grip lifters at 500 to 600 kg WLL, a web sling lifter, chain and clamp lifters and a 1 tonne Drum Grabber. Check the data sheet, or call us and we'll help match one to your drums.
Which Macnaught drum pump suits my drum?
Match the pump to the drum size first. The hand-operated pumps are listed for 20 L, 60 L or 60 to 200 L drums, and the OILMASTER and R-Series air-operated pumps are for 200 L drums. Then check the fluid against the data sheet. For other brands, see Oil Pumps and Chemical Pumps.
