Choosing a structural hex nut
Match the nut to the bolt. The thread size has to match, and the grade or class should be paired with the rating of the bolt so the nut does not become the weak point of the joint. The finish should follow the bolt too, with galvanised for outdoor use and plain where the bolt is plain.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the grade, finish and certification suit your engineer's drawing or specification before ordering.
