1/2 in (15 mm), steel to brass seat Galvanised Female-Female Union | LU15BS

This AAP galvanised malleable iron female-female union is a hot dip galvanised fitting with BSP threads. It is supplied in 17 size and type combinations, 1/2 in (15 mm) to 4 in (100 mm).

A union joins two pipes with a joint that can be broken and made again without turning the pipework. This one is threaded inside (female) at both ends. This page lists two versions: steel to brass seat and steel to steel seat, shown against each size.

AAP states that these fittings are made to EN 10242:1994 (manufacturer-stated), in blackheart malleable cast iron and delivered hot dip galvanised (manufacturer-stated). AAP states that each fitting is pressure tested to EN 10242 at a minimum hydrostatic pressure of 2068 kPa (equivalent to a minimum pneumatic pressure of 500 kPa) without leakage (manufacturer-stated). AAP recommends a maximum working pressure of 1379 kPa for water and 1034 kPa for gas, steam and compressed air (manufacturer-stated). Working pressures may also be limited by pressure piping codes or industry regulations, so confirm the pressure and temperature for your application with AIMS before you order.
