This AAP cross over hexagon nipple is a forged carbon steel fitting with BSPT x NPT thread and a black finish. It is supplied in 6 sizes, 1/2 in (15 mm) to 3 in (80 mm).
AAP lists this as a cross over nipple (BSPT, NPT): a hexagon nipple that changes from a BSPT thread at one end to an NPT thread at the other, so a BSPT port can be joined to an NPT port. AAP does not say which end is which, so confirm it with AIMS before you order. A is its overall length and C is the width of the hexagon, as lettered on the AAP drawing.
AAP rates its threaded high pressure fittings at 3000 lb (manufacturer-stated). AAP's pressure and temperature chart for screwed and socket welding fittings lists 3000 lb fittings at 3000 psi (about 20.7 MPa) from -20 to 100 degrees F (-29 to 38 degrees C), reducing to 355 psi (about 2.4 MPa) at 1000 degrees F (538 degrees C). AAP lists ASTM A105 carbon steel forgings among the standards for the range.

A and C are the dimensions lettered on the AAP drawing, in millimetres. AAP marks some sizes with an asterisk (PN80BN*): these are made to AAP own dimensions (manufacturer-stated).
Selecting the right option
Choose the size and thread to match your pipework (NPT or BSPT cannot be mixed), and check the thread gender at each end against the fitting it joins. AAP also lists a size in this range (PN32BN*), which AIMS does not currently list. Ask if you need it.
