Alpha CDT25PB 25 piece Combination Drill & Tap Set

The Alpha CDT25PB is a 25 piece set of 13 combination drill and taps and 12 Gold Series hex shank drills in a plastic storage case, covering metric coarse M3 to M10 and UNC 6G to 12G and 1/4" to 3/8" threads (manufacturer-stated).

Alpha lists the drill bits from 2.0mm to 6.5mm and states that the combination tools drill, tap and deburr ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics in one operation up to 3.5mm thick. All tools have a 1/4" quick change shank and suit cordless drills and impact drivers, with a titanium nitride coating, fully ground M2 HSS and a 135° split point (manufacturer-stated).

Alpha gives the instructions: drill the hole using medium pressure, slow the drill speed for tapping, keep drilling after tapping to deburr the hole, and reverse the tap slowly out of the hole to avoid cross threading. The maker recommends 500 to 600 RPM and says cutting fluid is recommended when tapping metals. The set is supplied carded.
