Beaver Colour Coded Bow Shackle 13 x 16 mm, 2 t WLL, Pail of 14 (242313MP)

Beaver colour coded Grade S screw pin bow (anchor) shackles supplied in pails, in WLLs from 2,000 kg (2 t) to 6,500 kg (6.5 t). Each pail holds a set number of shackles of one size (see the table). The body and pin are colour coded to the WLL, and each shackle is stamped with its WLL, grade, size and body ID with date of manufacture.

The manufacturer states that the colour coded Grade S shackles are made in accordance with AS 2741, and that test certificates are available on request.

Selecting the right option

Choose the shackle by the WLL marked on it, and match the colour to the rating of the other components in the lift. Inspect the shackle before each use. Check that the markings are legible, the pin and body threads are undamaged, and the body and pin are not distorted, worn, nicked, gouged, cracked or corroded. Do not heat treat, weld, bend or reshape a shackle, and do not replace the pin with a screw or bolt, as this affects the WLL. A safety bolt type shackle must always be used with its split cotter pin. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards.
