Beaver G70 Load Chain Kit, 8 mm x 6 m, Regular Grab Hooks, 3,800 kg LC (401003)

Beaver Grade 70 transport load chain kits are lashing chain with a grab hook fitted at each end, in 6, 7.1 and 8 mm chain, in 6 m lengths with regular grab hooks and 9 m lengths with winged grab hooks. Lashing capacities (LC) are 2,300 kg to 3,800 kg. Beaver states that the chain is manufactured from heat treated carbon steel in accordance with AS/NZS 4344, with a zinc di-chromate (gold) finish.

Beaver states that the chain and fittings are marked Grade 70 with the lashing capacity and chain size, and that the kit is supplied in a resealable poly bucket. Beaver describes the chain as primarily used in lashing applications to tie down loads on transport equipment.

Beaver marks Grade 70 lashings and fittings as not to be used for lifting purposes and not approved for lifting. Use this kit for load restraint only.

Beaver notes that some grab hooks, and systems that use them, bend the link of the lashing chain the hook is engaged on. Beaver states this reduces the strength of the chain by 25 percent, so the LC of this type of system must be reduced by 25 percent, as Beaver states AS/NZS 4344 prescribes. The LC values below are the figures Beaver publishes for the kits.

LC is the lashing capacity published by Beaver. It is a load restraint rating, not a working load limit (WLL) for lifting.

Choose the chain size and LC your load restraint needs, remembering Beaver's 25 percent reduction for systems using grab hooks, and keep every part of the restraint assembly (chain, binder, hooks and anchor points) matched to the same LC. This product is not rated for lifting. Do not use it to lift or suspend loads. For lifting applications use a rated lifting product marked with a working load limit (WLL).
