Beaver Metric Shouldered Eye Nut DIN 582, 8 mm, WLL 0.14 t (359208)
Available
Beaver metric shouldered eye nuts to DIN 582 are shouldered eye nuts with a metric thread and a gold zinc dichromate finish, listed by Beaver with a working load limit (WLL) and a transverse load for each size (manufacturer-stated). Beaver describes its eyebolts and eye nuts as predominately used for lifting applications. This listing carries seven sizes, 8 to 24 mm, with WLLs of 0.14 t to 1.8 t (manufacturer-stated). Beaver marks the 22 mm size as non-standard (NS) in its manual.
An eye nut threads onto a bolt or stud to give a lifting eye in place of a standard nut. Beaver does not state the material or grade and publishes no proof load. Its manual says the WLL is for an in-line (axial) pull, lists a transverse load for each size equal to the WLL divided by four, and warns that an eyebolt loaded at an angle is subjected to bending and can safely carry less.

Working load limit and use
Beaver lists a working load limit (WLL) for each size and a transverse load of one quarter of the WLL (manufacturer-stated). The WLL applies to a pull in line with the thread. Beaver's manual recommends forged steel, shouldered or collared eyebolts for lifting, says a shoulderless eyebolt is fine for vertical loading but is subjected to bending once loaded at an angle, and says to use only rated eyebolts for lifting (manufacturer-stated). Beaver's manual also shows markings on its eyebolts and eye nuts, with labels for the working load limit and the manufacture batch number. Beaver does not publish a proof load for these eye nuts. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards. If you are unsure what suits your lift, contact AIMS or a qualified rigger before ordering.
Angled and paired lifts
Beaver's manual includes an angular loading table for single and paired eyebolts and eye nuts. The WLLs in that table are not the same as the WLLs Beaver lists for this product (for example M10 and M16), so it is not reproduced here. For any angled or two-point lift, ask AIMS or a qualified rigger to confirm the rating before you order.

Codes, sizes, working load limits, transverse loads, dimensions (in millimetres), weights and pack quantities are from Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) and the Beaver website. Beaver does not define the dimension letters. The 22 mm size is marked NS (non-standard) by Beaver. Beaver sells the eye nuts singly (unit of measure: each).
Selecting the right option
Choose the size by the WLL your lift needs, in line with the thread, then check the dimensions against your bolt, stud and sling or shackle. The size is the metric thread size.
