BECO BJ63Z Imperial Spherical Bearing, Open, 63.5 x 100.01 x 55.55 mm (2-1/2" bore)

BECO imperial radial spherical plain bearings are bored to an inch shaft size, for repair and replacement work on imperial-shafted plant. They carry heavy radial load while letting the shaft sit out of square, which is the job a rolling bearing cannot do. Every size is listed with both its inch bore and its millimetre boundary dimensions, so you can check the housing before you order. A hardened steel inner ring runs its spherical surface directly against a matching hardened steel outer ring, which gives this type very high static load capacity and tolerance of shock and alternating loads.
It is supplied open, for clean or regularly serviced positions. Steel on steel joints need periodic greasing, so plan it into the service schedule. This range has 12 sizes with bores from 1-1/4" to 4" (31.75 to 101.6 mm).

Selecting the right option
Select by bore d first, then check the outside diameter D, ring width and sphere diameter dK in the table against the housing and the mating part.

The misalignment angle shown is the nominal series figure. Check it against the movement the joint has to take.
Steel on steel suits shock and alternating loads and needs periodic greasing. Where the joint cannot be greased, choose a PTFE lined bearing.
Fitting and use
Press only on the ring being fitted, and never through the sliding surfaces of the joint.
Grease the bearing at the service interval for your duty, and keep the joint clean.
