BossSafe Urban Wide View Electronic Welding Helmet
Available
The BossSafe Urban Wide View electronic welding helmet is an auto-darkening helmet from the BossSafe Wide View range, finished in a silver shell with a torn-metal mechanical graphic. It has a 100 x 67 mm viewing area, shade adjustable across DIN 9–13, a grinding mode, dual arc sensors and a switching speed of 1/10000 s.
The manufacturer states that the Wide View range is designed to protect the eyes, neck and face from flash burn, ultraviolet and infrared light, sparks and heat during welding tasks. The manufacturer also states an optical class of 1/1/1/2, that the range suits MIG, TIG and stick (MMA) welding, and that it is certified to the applicable welding helmet and eye protection standards. The BossSafe Urban Wide View, BossSafe Blaze Wide View and BossSafe Graphite Wide View share the same specification and differ in their graphics.
A technical data sheet is held for this helmet. If your site or procedure specifies a lens rating or standard, check it against the data sheet before ordering, and contact AIMS if you would like a copy for your safety file.

Selecting the right option
The Wide View sits between the Trade Series (100 x 53 mm) and the Mega View (100 x 93 mm) on viewing area, and its shade range starts at DIN 9, so it does not have the lighter DIN 5 settings of the other two ranges. The Urban, Blaze and Graphite share one specification, so choose on graphics. Grinding mode is for grinding only: set the helmet back to a welding shade before you strike an arc. If you are unsure which helmet suits your work, contact AIMS before ordering.
