The Bossweld Nickel Bronze Bare Welding Rod 1 kg Handy Pack is a nickel bronze brazing alloy that gives high strength and enhanced wear resistance. It is classified AWS A5.8 RBCuZn-D (manufacturer-stated) and produces strong, ductile brazed and fusion welds on a range of base metals.

It is suited to brazing and repair of steel and cast iron, and comes in 1.6 mm, 2.4 mm and 3.2 mm diameters in a 1 kg pack. It is a bare rod, so use it with a brazing flux.

Selecting the right option

Choose the diameter to suit the joint and the heat you are working with. Use a brazing flux, such as the Universal Copper and Brass Flux, with a bare rod. Brazing and soldering fumes can be harmful, so work with good ventilation or fume extraction and check the safety data sheet for the exact composition.
