CRC Red Lithium Grease Aerosol 300g

CRC Red Lithium Grease is a multi-purpose red lithium complex grease of NLGI grade 2. It is supplied in two packs: a 300g aerosol and a 450g cartridge. CRC treats them as separate products with their own product numbers, formulations and safety data sheets.

Choose by pack. The 300g aerosol uses a hydrocarbon propellant and is classed as an extremely flammable aerosol and a dangerous good. The 450g cartridge is not classified as hazardous and is not a dangerous good.

• 300g aerosol: roller bearings, chains, door tracks, hitches, hinges and latches
• 300g aerosol: cables, pulleys, guide rails, cams, pistons and heavy equipment
• 450g cartridge: ball and roller bearings, pumps, electric motors and water pumps
• 450g cartridge: trucks, buses, tractors, mining, metal production, machining and plastic moulding

Choosing the right option

The two packs are different CRC products, so check the pack before ordering: the aerosol suits quick, controlled application and carries flammable aerosol hazards, and the cartridge does not. For a white lithium grease see CRC White Lithium Grease 300g.

Using it

300g aerosol: shake the can thoroughly before use, clean the parts, then spray a light, even coating. Use the extension tube for hard-to-reach areas.

450g cartridge: apply liberally to areas requiring lubrication.

Do not mix the figures for the two packs: they are different formulations.

Limits and safety

300g aerosol: Signal word Danger. Dangerous goods UN 1950, Aerosols, Class 2.1. Extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurised container: may burst if heated. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. 450g cartridge: not classified as hazardous and not a dangerous good (ADG, IMDG, IATA). It is combustible. Read the safety data sheet before use.

Temperature range -18 °C to +150 °C for the 300g aerosol.
