CRC Water Based Food Grade Silicone NSF H1 Multi-Purpose Spray 369g
Available
CRC Water Based Silicone (listed by CRC as Food Grade Water Based Silicone, item FG03035) is a multi-purpose silicone spray for food processing and handling applications, supplied as a 369g aerosol. CRC's data sheet states it is NSF H1 registered for incidental food contact. It is a water-based silicone emulsion that forms a non-staining film (CRC page).
CRC says it eliminates sticking and binding while protecting most surfaces, reduces galling and friction, and eases metal-to-non-metal contact areas. The film is non-hardening and minimises corrosion, and CRC states it is harmless to most rubbers and plastics. CRC's directions say not to apply it while equipment is energised.

Using it
CRC's directions (data sheet 08/2024): do not apply while equipment is energised. Shake the can before using. Hold the can 20-30 cm away from the surface to be sprayed. Use the extension tube for pinpoint accuracy.
CRC's NSF letter says the amount used should be the minimum required to accomplish the desired technical effect on the equipment.
Storage and handling
Do not puncture, incinerate or store above 50°C. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, away from heat or ignition sources.
Limits and safety
Classified as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria (GHS only) as a pressurised aerosol, Category 3. Signal word Warning. H229: pressurised container, may burst if heated. UN 1950, AEROSOLS, Class 2.2. The safety data sheet does not classify it as a flammable aerosol, but the can holds a hydrocarbon propellant (liquefied petroleum gas 8 to 12%), so store it away from heat or ignition sources. Do not apply while equipment is energised. NSF H1 is a registration for incidental food contact. Read the safety data sheet before use.
