NACHI 6304-ZENRC3 Single Shield Deep Groove Ball Bearing 20x52x15 mm, C3, snap ring

This NACHI range covers 4 single row deep groove ball bearings, shielded with a snap ring groove and snap ring fitted, all with C3 radial internal clearance, from 20 to 60 mm bore (outer diameters 52 to 110 mm, widths 15 to 22 mm). Deep groove bearings are the most widely used ball bearing type. They carry radial, axial and combined loads, run at high speed with high running accuracy, and need no adjustment.

Selecting the right option

Shielded bearings (ZE one side, ZZE both sides) arrive grease-filled with a labyrinth clearance, so they keep friction low and speed capability high while adding dust protection. Shields are not suited to water. For standard filled grease the recommended temperature range is -25 to 120 °C.

Choose C3 where the bearing will run with an interference fit or a temperature difference between the rings, which both take up clearance; keep Normal clearance for light fits and low temperature rise. The Model Details give the exact micrometre range for each size.

Fitting and use

Check the load and speed against the catalogue figures in the table before ordering, and apply a suitable safety factor. These bearings must always carry a minimum radial load so the balls roll rather than slide, and heavy axial loads should be checked with AIMS before ordering.

Press the ring that is being fitted, not the other ring or the balls: force goes through the side face of the inner ring on a shaft and the outer ring in a housing.

Shielded bearings are built for inner ring rotation, so they are not suited to high speed outer ring rotation. Do not wash or heat shielded bearings before mounting.
