Dixon IXM16A 25 mm (1") Internal Expansion Stem BSP Male Pipe End

This Dixon Holedall internal expansion stem is carbon steel with a BSP male pipe end. The stem sits inside the hose and is held by an internally expanded ferrule. Dixon recommends the style for concrete placement, plaster and grout, food, air and pharmaceutical hose, and wherever flow capacity matters (manufacturer-stated). Three sizes are listed here: IXM16A for 25 mm (1"), IXM40A for 65 mm (2-1/2") and IXM48A for 75 mm (3") hose ID.
Dixon's maximum recommended working pressure for internally expanded IXM, IXV and IXH couplings is 600 PSI for hose from 25 mm to 75 mm, at 21 degrees C ambient (manufacturer-stated). For hose that uses ferrules IXF48-3 to IXF48-5, contact Dixon for the working pressure. Dixon states that Holedall stems and ferrules are designed to be used together as a coupling system and says not to use other manufacturers' stems or ferrules, for safety reasons. A Holedall internally expanded coupling needs strict adherence to the ferrule OD range for each hose end (manufacturer-stated).

Selecting the right option
Order the stem by the hose inside diameter and the ferrule by the measured hose outside diameter; Dixon recommends a diameter tape for that measurement (manufacturer-stated). One expansion tool is needed for each hose ID. Holedall couplings are not for steam at any pressure, and Dixon lists them as unsuitable for cable-reinforced high-pressure hose and 4-braid or 6-braid wire hydraulic hose (manufacturer-stated). Dixon recommends testing each hose assembly to 1-1/2 times its working pressure for 15 minutes without leakage or coupling movement (manufacturer-stated).
