M8 x 100 mm Double Thread Screw, 316 Stainless Steel - DTSA4M8X100

Made in 316 (A4) stainless steel, the Double Thread Screw is a headless stud with a timber thread on one end and a machine thread on the other. The timber end screws into wood, leaving the machine thread free to take a nut or to join into a threaded fitting. It is also known as a hanger bolt.

You can choose from 4 variants, covering sizes M8 to M10 and lengths 60 mm to 100 mm. Each variant is supplied in packs of 5.

The A4 (316) grade is stainless steel with added molybdenum, which helps it hold up where salt, pool chemicals or washdown chemicals are present. It is the more corrosion-resistant of the two common stainless grades, at a higher cost than 304. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

Use stainless washers and nuts with stainless fasteners, so the whole joint is made of the same material.

Selecting the right option

Drive the timber end in with two nuts locked together on the machine thread, or with a stud driver. Pre-drill a pilot hole sized to the timber thread.
