Frontier Safeguard Aramid Gloves, Large (FRSAFEGRDYB000L)
Available
The Frontier Safeguard is a 10 gauge seamless glove with an aramid and glass fibre blend shell and a crinkle cut latex coat. Beaver's 2024 catalogue lists EN 388:2016 4X43E, which is abrasion 4, tear 4, puncture 3 and cut level E, and EN 407:2004 X2XXXX, which is contact heat level 2 (manufacturer-stated). Beaver describes the aramid fibres as rated to contact heat level 2, with the test at 250 C for under 15 seconds (manufacturer-stated).
The other EN 407 results are X, which means they were not tested, so the glove has no rating for burning behaviour, convective heat, radiant heat or molten metal. Beaver lists applications as glass handling, automotive work, metal fabrication, recycling plants, council works, construction and mining (manufacturer-stated). This listing is the large size (FRSAFEGRDYB000L), sold as a pack of 12 pairs. Medium and X-large are listed separately as the Safeguard aramid glove. The EN 388 result (manufacturer-stated) is read in the order abrasion, blade cut, tear and puncture, followed by a cut letter where it is tested. An X means that test was not done. Match the glove to your risk assessment, check the fit, and replace gloves that are worn, torn or contaminated. The ratings are test results on the glove material and do not describe every hazard on your site.
Beaver's 2015 data sheet and 2024 catalogue give different cut and puncture results for this glove, and this page uses the lower, current figures (manufacturer-stated).
