Select by the tube size range and flare standard — 45-degree for SAE/JIC connections, double flare for automotive brake lines. The FT-DFS covers 3/16" to 5/8" for standard plumbing and automotive work; the FT-U covers 5 mm to 16 mm for metric tube. The HD Eccentric kit suits heavier-wall tube from 1/4" to 3/4" where a standard flaring tool cannot produce a consistent flare.
