Gates PowerBand Banded V-Belt Tru-Power

Gates Tru-Power™ is a heavy-duty V-belt line built for truck and bus engine drives — Gates is the OE supplier of Tru-Power belts to Asian bus manufacturers including King Long, Higher Daewoo and BCI, and was first to market with an OE-equivalent aftermarket range for buses, available in both single belts and PowerBand (banded) form. This listing is the 2-strand PowerBand configuration of the Tru-Power Green Stripe (V15 series) belt, 2220 mm.

Where this product is used

Tru-Power is a heavy commercial vehicle engine belt, not a general industrial V-belt. Typical uses include:

• Bus and coach engine accessory drives, including OE fitment on Asian bus makes (King Long, Higher Daewoo, BCI)
• Heavy-duty and high-speed drives needing reduced maintenance and downtime
• Multi-belt (PowerBand) drives on long centre distances or vertical mounts, where a banded belt controls belt whip

Key specifications

Selecting the right option

Tru-Power comes in three sub-ranges: V10/V13 (precision moulded notch, runs cooler and quieter), V15 Green Stripe (this listing — deep notch pattern, high stretch resistance) and the 20X/22X Green Stripe Truck & Bus series (meets SAEJ636B/SAEJ637, built specifically for heavy truck, bus and off-road equipment). Match by belt code (e.g. V15X2065) or pitch length, and use SAE belts in SAE pulleys / JASO belts in JASO pulleys — the two standards differ in width, depth and pitch. Contact AIMS if you need help cross-referencing your existing belt or pulley.
