Gates Draftguard (7814-0007) Locking Ring

This Gates Draftguard® component is a spare/service part for the Draftguard anti-rotation device. Draftguard prevents a fan drive from spinning backwards after shutdown — a real risk on induced- or forced-draught fan drives, where airflow across the blades can windmill the fan in reverse — and protects the belt, sheaves and motor from the shock load this causes at the next start-up. This is the Locking Ring (Item 7814-0007), fitting Taper-Lock or QD bushing bores already used on the drive.

Draftguard components are specific to the Draftguard model already fitted to your drive — confirm the bushing size (3020, 3525/3535/4030 Taper-Lock, or E/F/J QD) before ordering a replacement spacer or locking ring.
