Gates Maintenance GIBMAINT-1 Kit 1

The Gates Maintenance (GIBMAINT-1) Kit 1 - 508C & AT-1 is a Gates-branded drive maintenance case built around published Gates tools for correctly tensioning and aligning belt drives. This kit case holds a Gates sonic tension meter (508C). It reads belt tension directly from the belt's own vibration frequency via a small sensor, V-belt, multi-ribbed or synchronous, and gives a precise reading instead of a "feel" estimate, plus the Gates AT-1 laser alignment tool, a single-laser unit for aligning smaller pulley and sprocket drives. 60% of belt drive problems trace back to incorrect tension or misalignment, these kits give a technician the tools to get both right the first time, and check them again at every service.

Kit 1 (508C & AT-1) and Kit 3 (508C & EZ Align) both include the sonic tension meter; Kit 3 pairs it with the more capable EZ Align laser system and is Gates' most popular configuration for a full commissioning toolkit. Kit 2 (AT-1 only) and Kit 4 (EZ Align only) suit a workshop that already owns a tension meter and needs alignment capability alone.
