The Gates Polyflex V-belt is engineered for high-speed drives on small-diameter sheaves where standard V-belts cannot achieve the required minimum bend radius. The Polyflex construction uses a unique polyurethane body and aramid tensile cord for superior power capacity in a compact section.

Where this product is used

Gates V-belts cover the full range of industrial, agricultural and automotive drive applications. Common end uses include:

• Industrial drive systems — air compressors, pumps, fans, blowers and generators across manufacturing and utilities
• Agricultural machinery including combine harvesters, grain augers, irrigation pumps and crop-processing equipment

Selecting the right option

Select by belt section first, then by pitch length. Classical sections run A, B, C, D, E (or Z in metric) — cross-reference to the metric ISO equivalent (13A, 17A, 22A) where needed. Narrow sections (3V/SPA, 5V/SPB, 8V/SPC) carry more power in the same envelope. The XP series (XPZ/XPA/XPB/XPC) are notched versions for improved flex efficiency. Gates PowerBand banded belts join multiple strands — specify these for long centre distances, vertical drives or where belt whip is an issue. For Micro-V (K/J section) automotive belts, match by OE reference or by rib count and pitch length.
