Gates PoweRated is a green textile-wrapped V-belt with an aramid tensile cord, designed as a higher-performance alternative to conventional light-duty belts — more horsepower, less stretch and longer service life in the same fractional-horsepower (FHP) section.
Where this product is used
PoweRated is an industrial fractional-horsepower belt, not an automotive belt. Typical applications include:
- Outdoor power equipment and small appliances built around FHP-section belts
- Light industrial drives — small pumps, fans and shock-loaded, backside-idler driven equipment
- General light-duty replacement wherever a 3L, 4L or 5L section belt is specified

Selecting the right option
Select by section (3L, 4L or 5L — width increases with the number) then by outside circumference or the OE/existing belt part number. PoweRated’s aramid cord gives it more stretch resistance and a longer service life than a conventional wrapped light-duty belt of the same section — a straightforward upgrade on a like-for-like replacement.
