Hobson BH88PCM060016 M6 x 16mm Metric Hex Bolt, Class 8.8, Plain

This page lists 177 Hobson metric hex bolt items in class 8.8, plain finish: sizes M6 to M36, with lengths from 16mm to 300mm. Each item is shown with its Hobson part number, size, length and the pack quantity the supplier states.

Hobson lists class 8.8 as high tensile, and its class and grade chart pairs class 8.8 with imperial grade 5 (manufacturer-stated).

The pitch shown for each size is the coarse pitch given in the Hobson thread table (manufacturer-stated). The supplier lists metric fine pitch items as separate products and says so in the name.

For the items it lists, the Hobson High Tensile Stock List, April 2011 gives the heading Class 8.8 AS1110.1 / Class 8 AS1112.1 (manufacturer-stated). Items not in that list show no standard.

The stock list also gives the threaded length and a pack weight for the items it lists (manufacturer-stated). Pack weights are shown only where the stock list pack quantity matches the supplier pack quantity.

Proof load and minimum tensile strength come from the Hobson head-marking guide for the class or grade and size range (manufacturer-stated).

Spanner sizes (A/F) are from the Hobson spanner selection chart (manufacturer-stated).

Pack quantity varies with size and length and is shown for each item in the table.

Thread, strength and spanner size by diameter

Values in this table are from the Hobson thread table, strength guide and spanner chart, and apply to the size and class or grade shown (manufacturer-stated).

Key specifications

Selecting the right option

Choose the thread form first: the nut must match the bolt in thread form, diameter and pitch. Metric sizes are the nominal diameter in millimetres; compare the pitch in the table with your nut. Length is measured from under the head to the end of the bolt. Where the stock list thread length is shorter than the bolt length, part of the shank is unthreaded. Strength figures are the class or grade minimums from the Hobson head-marking table, so treat them as the minimum for the class or grade and not a test result for the item (manufacturer-stated). For a bolt and nut set: see Hobson Metric Hex Bolt and Nut, Class 8.8, Plain, M6 to M36 x 16 to 300mm.
