KCM 05B BS Roller Chain Connecting Link Simplex, 8 mm Pitch

KCM connecting links join the ends of a length of BS simplex roller chain into a continuous loop. Match the link to the KCM chain with the same chain number, strand count and series.

Selecting the right option

For BS chain the number is the pitch in sixteenths of an inch: 08B is 8/16 in (1/2 in), 12B is 12/16 in (3/4 in), 16B is 1 in. The figure after the dash is the number of strands.

This is KCM standard (carbon steel) BS chain. KCM also lists stainless steel BS chain (05B to 16B) where corrosion, heat or cleanliness rules out carbon steel.

Fitting and use

KCM says not to replace damaged parts of a chain with new ones. Replace the whole chain, and check the sprockets when changing chain.

Check that a safety cover is fitted before running a chain drive.
