Selecting the right option

For BS chain the number is the pitch in sixteenths of an inch: 08B is 8/16 in (1/2 in), 12B is 12/16 in (3/4 in), 16B is 1 in. The figure after the dash is the number of strands.

KCM's 2017.04 catalogue does not cover X-ring chain, so no dimensions, strength or temperature figures are shown here. Ask AIMS for the manufacturer's data sheet if you need them before ordering.

Fitting and use

KCM says not to replace damaged parts of a chain with new ones. Replace the whole chain, and check the sprockets when changing chain.

Check that a safety cover is fitted before running a chain drive.
