M6 x 40mm Lag Eye Screw with Collar, 316 Stainless Steel - LCSA4M6X40

The Lag Eye Screw with Collar Stainless Steel is a screw with a coarse timber thread and a closed eye, with a collar between the eye and the thread. The collar seats against the timber surface and keeps the eye clear.

You can choose from 7 variants, covering sizes M6 x 40mm to M12 x 120mm. Pack quantities depend on size: packs of 5 to 10.

Supplied in 316 (A4) stainless steel. The molybdenum in A4 gives better resistance to chlorides than A2 (304), so it is the usual choice near the coast, around pools and in marine and food-processing environments. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

Pre-drill a pilot hole sized to the thread, and screw the eye in until the collar is seated against the timber. It is not a lifting point and is not rated for lifting.
