FYH FC204 Round Flange Cartridge Bearing Housing, 12 to 20 mm Shaft

The FYH FC200 is a cast iron round flange cartridge bearing housing in the normal duty range. This page covers 15 housings, FC204 to FC218, for shafts from 12 to 90 mm (inch shaft sizes 1/2 to 3 1/2 in are also covered). These round flange cartridge housings are supplied without an insert bearing. A complete unit such as UCFC211 is the FC211 housing fitted with a UC211 insert bearing, which is ordered separately (see Related products). This page mixes metric and inch shaft sizes, because the matching inserts come in both bore types: the Shaft Diameter option gives the metric size first and the inch sizes in brackets.

Selecting the right option

Match the housing to the insert bearing and the shaft. The catalogue unit tables pair each housing number with specific insert bearings; for example FC211 takes UC211 on a 55 mm shaft.

The page lists metric and inch shaft sizes together. Choose the metric size for a metric shaft; for an inch shaft pick the same housing and order the insert with the matching dash number (for example UC211-32). Every size on this page has an inch bore listed.

FC204 covers more than one insert size (FC204: 12, 15, 17, 20 mm): the housing is shared across those bores, so confirm the exact insert number when ordering.

The Bolt Size option is the mounting bolt for the housing, as listed in the catalogue unit tables (inch equivalent in the Model Details).

Fitting and use

The housing is supplied without an insert bearing. Order the insert separately and lock it to the shaft in the way its own type requires: a UC insert locks to the shaft with two set screws; an NC insert locks with a concentric collar; a UK insert is a tapered bore insert that mounts on the shaft with an adapter sleeve; an SB insert locks to the shaft with set screws; an SA insert locks with an eccentric collar.

The pilot (spigot) on the back of the housing locates in a bore in your frame. Check the pilot diameter H3 in the Model Details against that bore, and set out the four bolt holes on the bolt circle diameter J (J1 is the spacing between adjacent holes).
