Loctite SF 7840 Biodegradable Cleaner

The Loctite SF 7840 Biodegradable Cleaner Degreaser (formerly 7840, Natural Blue) is a concentrated, water-based cleaner that contains no hazardous solvents. It is non-flammable and non-caustic, and removes grease, cutting and fuel oils, tar, road salt, light carbon, wax, animal fat, mildew and soot. Because it dilutes from 1:1 to 1:128, one product covers everything from dip-tank degreasing to wiping down windows.

Mix it with warm or cold water, then soak, spray or wipe and rinse clean — begin strong and dilute further until you find the leanest mix that still does the job, with warmth, agitation and contact time all helping. Mixes with less than 20 parts water may damage painted surfaces, and any residue can stop anaerobic products curing, so rinse parts well before threadlocking or sealing.
