Mackay FHS9K Flexi-Strap With Hooks, 230 mm long, 285 mm stretch length

Mackay Flexi-Straps are rubber straps and fasteners with hooks on the ends. Mackay lists reinforced ends so the hooks will not pull out, quick on and off hooks that eliminate rope tying, plastic coated hooks that will not mark paintwork, and a non-staining, long life, weather resistant rubber compound (manufacturer-stated).

There are four lengths in the store: FHS9K at 230 mm, FHS15K at 380 mm, FHS24K at 610 mm and FHS31K at 785 mm, with stretch lengths of 285, 475, 765 and 980 mm. Mackay says to add 100 mm for the hooks, and recommends that a Flexi-strap is not used beyond its listed stretch length (manufacturer-stated).

Common specifications

Key specifications

Mackay prints all properties as nominal and asks you to contact them for technical advice. Mackay says to add 100 mm for the hooks. Both Mackay catalogues print the same values for these part numbers.

Selecting the right option

Pick the length by the distance you need to span, then check it against the stretch length: Mackay recommends the strap is not used beyond its listed stretch length (manufacturer-stated), and to add 100 mm for the hooks. Mackay publishes no load or breaking-strength rating for these straps, so do not treat a Flexi-strap as a rated load restraint; for heavy loads use a rated restraint.
