Maun MA4951/160 Side Cutter Parallel Plier with Return Spring, 160 mm

The Maun 160 mm side cutter parallel plier combines parallel serrated jaws with an integrated wire cutter and a return spring, for gripping, straightening, manipulating and cutting wire and rod. It has zinc-plated handles with grip detailing and no PVC grip sleeves (manufacturer-stated).

The jaws stay parallel throughout use, and a V-slot feeds and holds wire and rod along the jaw length. Wire can also be threaded down the throat of the plier. The plier multiplies hand force by 23, and the jaws and blades are case-hardened to HRC 57. Cutting capacity is 2.0 mm piano wire, 2.5 mm hard wire and 4.0 mm soft wire (manufacturer-stated). Maun states that the plier must not be used on live electrical wire (manufacturer-stated).

Maun lists BS 3087-7:1996 and ISO 5747:1995 for this range (manufacturer-stated). The plier is made in England and weighs 225 g (manufacturer-stated).
