DS-2 Max Dynamic Coupling Polyurethane Spacer, 28 mm Max Bore

Max Dynamic spacer couplings with polyurethane elements, in sizes DS-2 to DS-80. Max Dynamic couplings are made of two hubs with a polyurethane element between them. The coupling protects the equipment against twist, impact and abrasion, and it is replaced and maintained without oil or grease. The simple structure means the element can be replaced without separating the motor or the connected machine. The polyurethane gives good water and chemical resistance and a very flexible, elastic action, with less noise.
The spacer design lets you remove the element and the centre section without moving the motor or the driven machine. The shaft spacing (C) range for each size is listed below.

Selecting and fitting
Choose the size from the torque and the shaft size, and apply a service factor for the type of machine. The torque is listed in kgf.m, and one kgf.m is about 9.81 Nm. A complete coupling needs two hubs and one element. The other Max Dynamic parts are Max Dynamic Coupling Hub Straight Blank Bore, Max Dynamic Coupling Taperlock Hub, Max Dynamic Coupling Polyurethane Element.
Fit the bolts in the sequence shown in the manufacturer catalogue and use a high-tension bolt. Align the two shafts as closely as you can before fitting the coupling, and check the alignment again once the coupling is fitted. Good alignment gives the longest life, whatever the coupling type.
