Pferd flat file 1122, Bastard Cut / 100mm

The Pferd flat file (series 1122) is a tanged machinist's file with a rectangular section, tapered and cut on four sides. The range has 16 options from 100 to 350mm in bastard (cut 1), second (cut 2) and smooth (cut 3) cuts, all supplied without a handle.

The series are shape B in accordance with DIN 7261, suited to work on rectangular geometries. Suitable materials: aluminium, bronze, copper, brass, zinc, grey cast iron, steels up to 1,200 N/mm² and cast steel. Matching handle by length: FH 3 for 100 and 150mm; FH 4/1 for 200 and 250mm; FH 5/1 for 300 and 350mm. Handles are not included; the ergonomic file handles are sold separately.

Choosing the right option

Cut 1 (bastard) is for coarse stock removal and roughing, cut 2 (second) for universal roughing and finishing and cut 3 (smooth) for precision processing and finishing. A higher cut number is a finer file.
