Choose the thread size and pitch to match the mating part. M10 and M12 each come in a coarse and a fine pitch: BL10BD is M10 x 1.5 and BL10D is M10 x 1.25, and BL12BD is M12 x 1.75 and BL12D is M12 x 1.25.
