Seagull VS series V-ring seals, conical back, in Viton (FKM) 60 durometer, 40 sizes. Inside diameters run from 4 to 180 mm, covering shaft diameters from 4.5 to 210 mm.
A V-ring is an all-rubber axial seal that stretches over the shaft, rotates with it and seals against a face at right angles to the shaft. It is commonly fitted as a secondary seal to keep dirt, dust and water out of a bearing or oil seal.
Each size has a model code in the form VS-### (for example VS-055V) with a V on the end for Viton. The size is chosen by the shaft diameter range listed for each model.

Selecting the right option
Choose the size by the shaft diameter. The shaft range for each model is shown in the sizes table and the options list gives the ring's inside diameter, which is smaller than the shaft because the ring stretches to fit.
Housing dimensions E, F and G are listed for each size as published in the size table. Check them against the installation space before ordering.
Viton is chosen where the ring runs hot or meets fluids that NBR does not suit. This page is the Viton version of the VS series.
The VA series is the straight back style and the VS series is the conical back style. Both are listed in the Seagull V-ring range.
If the size you need is not listed, send AIMS the shaft diameter and we will check what is available.
Fitting and use
Fit the ring on a clean, smooth shaft without burrs, sharp edges or keyways that could cut it, and lubricate it lightly so it slides on without twisting.
The ring seals against a smooth face at right angles to the shaft. Locate it at the installed width given for the size and keep the face free of scoring and rust.
As the ring rotates with the shaft, larger sizes or higher speeds may need the ring held in place with a clamp or retaining band. Check this with AIMS for your application.
