FSC-1/4-SP Two-Piece Split Clamp Shaft Collar, 1/4 inch Bore

Two-piece split clamp type shaft collars in imperial sizes FSC-1/4-SP to FSC-2-SP, for shafts with a bore from 1/4 to 2 inch (6.35 to 50.8 mm). A shaft collar is a ring-shaped component used as a mechanical stop, a locating component or a bearing face. A clamp type collar holds the shaft by clamping, so it does not mar the shaft.

A two-piece collar is made in two halves that are joined by clamp screws around the shaft, so it can be fitted and removed without disturbing other components on the shaft. The collars are steel with a black oxide finish, and the table below lists the bore, outside diameter, C dimension and width for each size.

Selecting and fitting

Choose the collar by shaft diameter. C is the overall size across the clamp, including the screw head area, as shown in the catalogue drawing. The catalogue does not give holding force or clamp screw torque, so contact AIMS if you need either. The manufacturer lists keyway versions, opposing screws and additional sizes for this range. Slide the collar onto the shaft, set its position and tighten the clamp screw evenly. Because the collar clamps the shaft, it does not need a grub screw to bite into the surface.
