Sutton E1451600 16mm x 16mm 4 Flute Roughing Endmill - HSS Co.8 TiCN

The Sutton E145 (E145 1600) is a 4 flute regular reach roughing endmill (rougher) with a 16 mm cutting diameter, 40 mm flute length, 95 mm overall length and a 16 mm shank. It is made from 8% cobalt high speed steel (HSS Co.8) with a TiCN coating, has R30 helix, NR (normal) roughing geometry, designation WN and a 45° corner chamfer and a DIN 1835 form B Weldon flat shank (h6 tolerance). It is for roughing and heavy cuts in materials up to 1000 N/mm².

NR (normal) roughing geometry is designed for heavy cuts and fast stock removal, and the 45° corner chamfer is designed to protect the corner of the cutting edge. The R30 helix is designed for efficient chip evacuation, and the TiCN coating is designed for longer tool life. This is the regular series with a Weldon flat shank for a positive grip in a side-lock holder.

Using the endmill

• Hold the Weldon flat shank in a side-lock (Weldon) holder with the grub screw on the flat.
• Use cutting data suited to the material, and keep the tool clamped as short as the job allows.
• Use cutting fluid or coolant where the material and machine allow it.
