The Sutton M452 is a carbon alloy steel hexagon die nut for cleaning and resizing existing damaged BSPF (G series, British Standard Pipe Fitting) threads. It comes in 7 sizes, 1/8" to 1", with hex sizes from 23.5 to 65.5 mm AF, and can be turned with a wrench or socket where space is limited.
The hexagon die is best suited for maintenance and repair work. Because the die can be used with a wrench or socket, it works in limited space. Carbon alloy steel threading tools are not suitable for precision, safety or critical threads: they are for general purpose and DIY use only. Applications include DIY, trade, automotive, plumbing, metalworking and MRO work.

Using the die nut
- Clean dirt and rust from the damaged thread before starting.
- Start the die square on the thread, turning forward and backing off regularly to break the chip.
- Use a cutting fluid suited to the material being threaded.
- Die nuts are designed to clean and resize existing threads. For a new thread on plain stock, use a button die from the threading dies and sets range.
- Use for general purpose and DIY threads only.
