The Sutton T365 is a spiral flute tap (L20 spiral, HSC designation, synchro) for metric coarse (M) threads, made from powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 11 sizes from M2 x 0.4 to M20 x 2.5.
The 20° left-hand spiral with right-hand cutting curls and carries the chips forward of the tap, like a gun tap, and the helical flutes keep the thread pitch where another hole crosses the tapped hole. It suits through holes, including interrupted holes. The chamfer is Form D (4 x P), generally for through holes.
The thread tolerance is 6HX.

- Suitable for materials up to 850 N/mm2.
- Ideal for through holes with angular exit or interrupted hole.
Design features
- Powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3). The very fine and uniform grain structure allows high hardness while keeping good toughness, for materials up to 40 HRC and difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steels.
- TiCN coating for abrasive materials such as cast iron and aluminium alloys, and adhesive materials such as copper and copper-based alloys.
- 3 to 4 flutes, depending on size.
- 20° left-hand spiral flute.
- Form D chamfer, 4 x P.
- Thread tolerance 6HX.
- Right hand cutting / Left hand helix.
