The Sutton T377 is a spiral point (gun) tap (HSC designation, internal coolant, synchro) for metric coarse (M) threads, made from powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 13 sizes from M2 x 0.4 to M20 x 2.5.
The gun (spiral point) nose curls the chip forward, ahead of the tap and out of the hole, so chip clogging is avoided and coolant can flow without problems. It suits through holes. The chamfer is Form B (4.5 x P), for through holes in medium and long chipping materials.
The thread tolerance is 6HX. The internal coolant duct (IK) delivers coolant through the tap to the cutting zone.

Design features
- Powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3). The very fine and uniform grain structure allows high hardness while keeping good toughness, for materials up to 40 HRC and difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steels.
- TiCN coating for abrasive materials such as cast iron and aluminium alloys, and adhesive materials such as copper and copper-based alloys.
- 3 to 4 flutes, depending on size.
- Form B chamfer, 4.5 x P.
