Sutton E4560600 6mm Shank 4 Flute 90° Chamfer Endmill - Carbide TiAlN

The Sutton E456 is a 4 flute 90° chamfer endmill in 4 sizes with 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm shanks. It is made from solid carbide (VHM) with a TiAlN coating, has straight flutes and a DIN 6535 HA plain shank (h6 tolerance), and is for chamfering and deburring component edges.

The straight flute form is designed for smooth cutting, and the 90° form sets the chamfer angle. Solid carbide holds its edge in harder materials, and the TiAlN coating is designed for longer tool life. The application guide covers steels, stainless steels, cast irons, aluminium and copper alloys, titanium and high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel up to 55 HRC.

Using the chamfer endmill

• Hold the endmill in a milling chuck, collet or shrink-fit holder that grips the plain shank accurately and runs true.
• Use the lightest cut that breaks the edge cleanly, and keep the tool clamped as short as the job allows.
• Carbide is brittle: avoid shock loads and keep the workpiece clamped rigidly.
