MSPX-6-6 Two Piece Split Rigid Coupling, Clamp Type, 6 mm Bore

Two-piece split rigid couplings, clamp type, metric, steel with a black oxide finish, in sizes MSPX-6-6 to MSPX-50-50 with bores of 6 to 50 mm. Clamp style rigid couplings wrap around the shaft and give high torsional holding power without the shaft damage and fretting that occurs when set screw style couplings are used.

The two-piece clamp style also allows disassembly and maintenance without removing other machine components, and it uses opposing hardware for a balanced design. Each part number repeats the bore size, and the table below lists the bore, the A, B and C dimensions and the number of split pieces for each size.

Selecting and fitting

Choose the bore to match the shaft. The catalogue lists clamp couplings with and without keyways, in steel or stainless steel, and in one-piece and two-piece designs. It does not give torque ratings for this range, so contact AIMS if you need a rating or a keyway option. Fit the coupling over both shaft ends with the shafts aligned, and tighten the clamp screws evenly. Align the two shafts as closely as you can before fitting the coupling, and check the alignment again once the coupling is fitted. Good alignment gives the longest life, whatever the coupling type.
