Unasco White Tradesman Thread Seal Tape 12mm x 30m

Unasco is an Australian manufacturer of thread sealing and pipe jointing products, producing PTFE thread seal tape, anti-seize tape, and anaerobic thread sealant compounds for use in plumbing, gas, hydraulic, and industrial pipe fitting applications. Unasco PTFE thread seal tape is applied to the male thread of pipe fittings and valves before assembly to create a leak-free seal in threaded connections. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tape is chemically inert, resistant to most fluids and gases, and suitable for water, compressed air, hydraulic oil, and most chemical service applications. Available in standard and gas-grade formulations, it is the most widely used pipe thread sealing method in Australian plumbing and industrial maintenance.

Where this product is used

PTFE thread seal tape is used across plumbing, gas, and industrial pipe fitting work:

• Water and compressed air pipe fittings in plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC installations.
• Hydraulic system fittings where PTFE tape provides a clean, chemical-resistant seal in tapered BSP and NPT threads.
• Industrial maintenance and shutdown work where threaded pipe joints must be broken and resealed without thread damage.

Selecting the right option

Standard (white) PTFE tape suits water, air, and most general-purpose fluid applications. Gas-grade (yellow) PTFE tape is required for natural gas and LPG connections and meets the additional thickness and density requirements of gas fitting standards. Do not use standard white tape on gas lines. Wider and thicker tapes provide more sealing material per wrap and suit larger diameter fittings or connections that require additional gap-filling.
