14G-10 x 50 Wafer Flange T17 Screw, 316 Stainless Steel - WFSA414GX50

The Wafer Flange Screw Hex Drive T17 A4 (316) is available in 2 sizes (14G-10 x 50 to 14G-10 x 70) and is a flanged wafer head screw with a hex drive and a Type 17 (T17) point. The T17 point is a cutting point designed to start in timber.

The A4 (316) grade is stainless steel with added molybdenum, which helps it hold up where salt, pool chemicals or washdown chemicals are present. It is the more corrosion-resistant of the two common stainless grades, at a higher cost than 304.

You can choose from 2 variants, covering sizes 14G-10 x 50 to 14G-10 x 70. Every size comes in packs of 200.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

Pre-drilling is still advised in dense hardwood or close to the end of a board, to prevent splitting. For indoor and general outdoor use where chlorides are not a concern, the A2 (304) version is the lower-cost option: Wafer Flange Screw Hex Drive T17 A2 (304).
